Superb 19th century cast metal statue of Saint Peter. This half life size statue offers exquisite details and patina. A truly grand example and magnificent decorative piece!

This beautiful statue was casted by the Miroy Freres company. The Miroy Freres was a family business running for a couple of generations based in Paris and mostly known for their expertise in manufacturing bronze and spelter statue and ornaments. They have notably participated in L’Exposition Universelle de Paris in 1867. The family also expanded internationally with the creation of Miroy & Co at New Earl Street (1856-71) and Miroy-Requier at Queen Victoria Street in 1875 both focusing on bronzerie and clockmaking.

This statue carries the manufacturer’s plaque and is numbered “9”.
